The Indian swimming contingent moved into the Commonwealth Games village on Monday, but not before the now customary teething troubles.
The Indian team has been stationed in Delhi for the last month for training and had been staying at a city hotel in Karol Bagh since the Games Village was not ready.
While there was no problem on the training front so far, Monday turned out to be a different experience for the group of seven swimmers.
These seven players had not received their accreditations on Sunday.
When the team reached the S.P. Mukherjee Aquatic Complex this morning, four of them managed to sneak in along with the other bunch, while three had to return back to the hotel.
Though the players were amused at the turn of events, team officials played down the event saying it was a minor issue.
“The problem happened due to wrong size photographs submitted by the players. But everything has been sorted out now and we are enjoying the excellent facilities of the Games village,” said team manager Ramanuj Mukherjee.
National coach Pradeep Kumar also insisted that there was nothing to worry about the morning’s incident and expressed confidence that considering the improvements in the last few days, India would hosts the Games in a grand fashion.
