Three-way tie at chess meet

G N Gopal outwitted Sahaj Grover to join overnight leaders Swapnil Dhopade and M R Venkatesh on the leaderboard with four points apiece after round five of the National Premier Chess Championship at Kshudiram Anushilan Kendra here on Friday.

On the top board, Swapnil drew against Venkatesh by opting for four pawns attack in reply to the latter's King’s Indian defence. Swapnil had an attack on the queen's wing but Venkatesh forced a draw.
