India's star boxer Vijender Singh will skip to the upcoming Asian Confederation boxing championships to be held at Incheon, South Korea from August 3 to 13.
The Beijing Olympics bronze medallist who won had won a bronze in the previous edition and a silver in 2007, is not among the 10-member team that is participating in the continental meet to prepare themselves for more bigger challenges ahead.
The biennial event will be a good testing ground for the big-ticket tourneys coming up later this year.
14 teams in DSA
As many as 14 affiliated clubs will vie for top honours during Delhi Soccer Association's (DSA) annual preliminary league football championship starting from July 30.
The top four teams from each group will play in a round-robin league to decide the semi-finalists.
Sharma wins 3 bronze
Delhi based veteran athlete Prem Lal Sharma claimed three bronze medals in the men 80 plus category in the just concluded world masters meet held at California in USA. Javelin throw apart, Sharma won medals in long jump and high jump events.
