After clinching his first ATP Challenger doubles title at Busan last week, Yuki Bhambri now has the chance to add the maiden singles crown to his resume.
The 19-year-old defeated eighth seed Denys Molchanov of Ukraine in the semifinals at the Fergana Challenger meet in Uzbekistan on Saturday to reach his first Challenger final.
After losing the first set 3-6, the unseeded Indian rallied to win the next two 6-3, 6-3 to seal the final berth. He will play fourth-seeded Amir Weintraub of Israel on Sunday.
Bhambri has started to play Challengers this season. His previous best results were reaching the quarterfinals in Singapore and Kyoto.
