120 principals take part in conference on higher education

Khalsa College in collaboration with the Indian Colleges Forum, New Delhi, organised a three-day national conference on "Higher education for development of economy and society through research and innovations".

Various speakers discussed at length about the need and scope of higher education. SGPC president Avtar Singh  Makkar, who was presiding the inaugural function, appreciated the efforts of the college in providing an opportunity to contemplate on higher education.

He said that the conference would surely be fruitful and culminate in the formulation of needful policies of education at national level.

The guest of honour, Dr Furqan Qamar, vice-chancellor, Central University, Himachal Pradesh, addressed the key note  on "Strategy to link colleges with economy and societal development."

Nearly 120 principals from Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, Karnataka, Kerala, New Delhi and other states participated in this conference. A  souvenir of the conference was also released.

Earlier, Dr Dharminder Singh Ubha, principal, Khalsa College welcomed the guests.
