Four days after an 18-year-old girl was pushed into the Bhakhra main line canal by her boyfriend, her body was recovered from Jhanir head in Mansa on Sunday.

However, the police are yet to make arrests in the case in which two youths, identified as Gurvinder Sharma of Ghaleri village and Sukhmani alias Noni of Tapa Mandi of Bathinda district, were booked under sections of murder and destruction of evidence under the Indian Penal Code.

"We have formed a team to nab the accused who are both absconding. Moreover, we are conducting raids at various locations to arrest them at the earliest," said the SHO.
