Lashing out at the ruling SAD-BJP combine, the former Rajya Sabha member and firebrand Congress leader Jagmeet Brar said that there is tsunami of anger against the SAD-BJP government.
The public is angry with the mis-governance and 'goondaraj' of the Akali Dal. "It's for the first time in Punjab that the public is not allowing the SAD-BJP leaders to enter Punjab. Black flags are being shown to Akali leaders. Public sending them back from villages, as all know that the Akali Dal is behind the drug addiction In Punjab", said Jagmeet adding that "the anger of public has turned into a tsunami."
Giving a boost to the campaign of the Congress candidate Preneet Kaur, Brar and Surinder Singla, members of the Congress Campaign Committee accused the SAD-BJP of forming an unholy alliance to grab power.
Raising the issue of mis-governance, Brar said that "the sand mafia was ruling the state… there is no presence of government. SAD-BJP has ruined the state in the last seven years," said Brar.
Addressing a series of rallies in Patiala rural constituency organised by MLA Brahm Mohindra, Brar at his vocal best, attacked the Badal family in general by questioning their double standards on issues of Bluestar, river waters, etc.
He said that SAD-BJP always raised the Operation Bluestar or Delhi riots, for which the Congress has regretted in Parliament, but why the SAD is silent on the Gujarat riots where hundreds of Muslims were killed during the reign of Narender Modi, who is BJP's prime ministerial candidate.
He questioned the silence of SAD on the riots of Muzzfarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. "The double standard of the SAD has been exposed. And panthic party will be punished by the voters."
Seeking votes for Preneet, Jagmeet said that despite stiff opposition of the Akali Dal, which didn't give a single penny for Patiala, Preneet has brought `150 crore for Rajindra Medical College, upgraded several schools, and brought a `500-crore insititute at Dera Bassi.
Congress candidate Preneet Kaur and MLA Brahm Mohindra also addressed the gatherings.
