A two-day workshop on "School safety: bullying, cyber bullying and pupil well-being" commenced at Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan in Punjabi University here on Tuesday.
The seminar was being organised by the Indian European Research Networking in Social Sciences in collaboration with Flinders University Australia and University of South Australia.
Delivering the inaugural session, Dr Devinder Singh, director, planning and monitoring, Punjabi University, said that bullying was as old as human civilization. He further said that we must invent some device to check bullying.
Rakhshit Tandon, a leading cyber security expert and consultant, Internet and Mobile Association of India and Professor Philip Slee from Flinders University, Australia, informed the participants on digital threats to children's safety and the bullying-related experiences faced by children in schools.
Dr Damanjit Sandhu, convener of the workshop, said the workshop had been organized for the school teachers of Patiala to inform them about the growing menace of bullying and cyber bullying problems in schools.
