Teachers working under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Central Sponsored Scheme (CSS), will stage a protest against non-fulfilment of their demands in front of the Patiala office of rural panchayat and development minister Surjit Singh Rakhra on July 21.
State CSS general secretary Hardeep Todarpur said the state government had failed the Hindi teachers working under the scheme.
"Despite their continuous services in different schools under the state education department, Hindi teachers have not been paid for past 15 months," he alleged.
He said the government had also not withdrawn false cases registered against teachers in Bathinda two months ago.
The union also demanded that an Elementary Teachers Training course should be conducted for the 1,273 teachers recruited in different schools under the SSA.
He also said despite several requests, teachers were facing a lot of difficulties as the policy formulated by the state government for teachers' promotions had many anomalies."Instead of solving their problems, the state government has increased them manifold," he said.
