Police in Bihar are probing the disturbing case of a 10-year-old boy who is alleged to have killed three children, all below a year old.
The case of Amarjeet Sada is giving sleepless nights to police and people in Begusarai district's Musahari village, about 125 km from Patna. His latest victim seems to be six-month-old Khushboo who was found buried on Tuesday.
The baby's mother Chunchun Devi has told police that she had left her sleeping in the primary school on Tuesday evening. When she returned after a while, the baby was missing and a search was launched.
A few hours later, Amarjeet apparently admitted that he had strangled her and led villagers to the spot where he had buried her.
Police took the boy into custody and produced him in court on Thursday. They are also investigating his role in the deaths of his eight-month-old sister and nine-month-old cousin.
Villagers say Amarjeet is responsible for both the deaths - all three incidents have taken place within a year and the families had suppressed the cases.
Begusarai District Superintendent of Police Amit Lodha said the boy appears to be a psychiatric case. "Police will get him examined him by a psychiatric to know the truth," he said.
