Union minister of state for agriculture and food processing Tariq Anwar on Thursday assured chief minister Nitish Kumar of all possible help, without any discrimination, to boost the state's agriculture output.

Anwar, who called on the chief minister at his official residence, promised that there would be no discrimination against Bihar, especially in the agricultural and food processing sectors.

During their hour-long meeting, Kumar apprised the Union minister about the measures to boost farm sector and the agricultural roadmap launched by President Pranab Mukherjee on October 3.

On his part, Anwar appreciated the agricultural roadmap as an "ambitious project" and assured to personally extend help to the state government.

Anwar said the Centre would pay more attention towards bringing the second green revolution in the eastern region, the potential of which remained untapped. For achieving this, there would be more emphasis on increasing production of crops like maize and pulses in addition to paddy in Bihar and other eastern states.

He said, a mega food park was proposed at Khagaria and added that the Centre would assist in the development of agro-based industries in state.
