Bihar's 13-year-old prodigy Satyam, who stunned everyone by cracking IIT-JEE last year with an all India rank of 8137, has done it again this year. This year, he cleared JEE-Advance with an AIR of 679.

Born on July 20, 1999, Satyam Kumar, a resident of Bhojpur, is perhaps the youngest to clear JEE. Last year. He had done it at the age of 12 years only after he got special permission from the CBSE, Mumbai zone.

Not satisfied with his low rank, Kumar decided to take the IIT-JEE preliminary examination this year again and qualified, making him the youngest person to do it. Now, with a very good rank, he is through.

Satyam studied at Kota, Rajasthan and was confident all through. “He has worked really hard. For his age, it is something special. He was determined to improve his rank and his hard work has paid off,” said his father Sidhnath Singh, a farmer.

Though just into his teens, Satyam has a wise shoulder on his head, as he has amply demonstrated.

Soon after last year's result, which most of the students would have accepted, he had confidently said that he was not satisfied with his rank and would take India's most competitive engineering test once again.

Even after his second attempt at 13, he is still the youngest to crack IIT-JEE.

Delhi boy Sahal Kaushik was the youngest to have cracked IIT-JEE at the age of 14 in 2010.

IIT, however, is only a stepping stone to the big dream of Satyam.

He wants to become an IAS officer. But before that, he has a desire to make a name for himself in the field of information technology.
