Bihar to get more police force from states

patna Updated: Mar 27, 2009 18:47 IST

Apart from contingents of Central Para-military Force (CPMF), Bihar will get additional security personnel from the states of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh to ensure free, fare and peaceful Lok Sabha polls.

The Additional Director General of police (HQ), Neelmani made this statement on his return from New Delhi after attending a high-level meeting on security arrangements to ensure fair and peaceful polls.

Neelmani said it was expected that the state would have more security personnel this time than the previous ones as the Election Commission and union home ministry had assured to make available to the state adequate companies of the CMPF and security personnel from other states.
