Additional district and sessions judge T P Sharma found Subba Yadav and Ramchand Yadav guilty of killing the former MLA and sentenced them to life imprisonment.

In a separate judgement, additional district and sessions judge Vijay Prakash Mishra awarded life imprisonment to four persons, including a couple, for abducting one person for ransom in Bahadurpur in Patna on April 6, 2007.

Vikas Kumar was abducted by Mohammad Mumtaz and his wife Kareena Praveen along with Manoj Rai and Pramod Pandit when he was on his way to a friend's place. Vikas was rescued by the police on April 19, 2007 from Nawada district.

In another judgement, a fast track court awarded life imprisonment to three persons in a murder case in Munger district.

The trio was found guilty of hacking Kewal Mandal to death in Sangrampur in Munger district on November 27, 2004.
