Corruption should end: Meira

patna Updated: Jun 03, 2011 14:39 IST

Ahead of yoga guru Ramdev's proposed agitation against corruption, Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar on Friday said that all possible steps should be taken by everyone to root out corruption.

"We want from the core of our heart that the corruption must end... all possible steps and efforts be made from every quarter to root out corruption," Kumar told reporters on the sidelines of a seminar in Patna.

"Everyone should fight corruption unitedly... be parliament members, or civil society activists or common people, they should also try on their own to end corruption," she said.

Kumar made the remarks when reporters sought her comments on Ramdev's decision to launch stir at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi from Friday.
