The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Wednesday set 10 conditions before chief minister Nitish Kumar for withdrawal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s DNA remark against him.
Holding a joint press conference here, the NDA leaders said they were ready to urge PM Modi to withdraw his comment against Kumar, provided the chief minister agreed to tender an apology before the people of Bihar for his 10 serious lapses, including the betrayal of people’s mandate by breaking away from the BJP in June 2013.
Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi, who addressed the press meet along with Hindustani Awam Party ( HAM) leader Brishin Patel and Rashtriya Loktantrik Samata Party (RLSP) leader Arun Kumar, said PM Modi had never passed any remark on the DNA of the people of the state. At his Muzaffarpur rally, the Prime Minister had talked about the political DNA of Kumar, which had nothing to do with Bihar. “Now, the CM is trying to derive political mileage out of the issue, which is virtually a non-issue,” he added.
Modi said the CM should also apologise to the people of Bihar for joining hands with RJD president Lalu Prasad and paving the way for ‘Jungle Raj-2’.
He said the third condition for Kumar was that he should offer an apology to the people for insulting former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi by removing him from the chief minister’s post.
“Kumar should also offer apology to George Fernandes and late Digvijay Singh for betraying them,” said Modi. “He should go to the families of the victims of umpteen massacres, which had taken place during the regime of RJD with which he has forged an alliance,” the former deputy CM added.
“Similarly, the CM should apologise to all those, who had left Bihar fearing the RJD rule. Also, he should tender apology to people of Bihar for sacrificing the ideals of JP and Lohia by allying with the Congress,” Modi said.
He said the NDA would appeal to the PM to withdraw his DNA remark provided the CM apologised for cancelling the dinner invitation extended to Modi in 2010. Also, he should apologise to the people for derailing development of Bihar in the last 25 months. “We ask the CM to offer an apology to Muslims of the state for joining hands with the Congress under the regime of which the infamous Bhagalpur riots had taken place,” Modi said.
Commenting on the seat sharing exercise of the JD(U), RJD and Congress combine, Modi said Kumar had panicked over the success of the last two rallies addressed by the PM and completely surrendered to the RJD chief, giving him 100 seats to contest in the upcoming assembly polls.
