ECR to attach additional coaches in eight trains

In keeping with the rush of passengers and high demand for air-conditioned coaches, the East Central Railway (ECR) has decided to add additional coaches of different classes on a permanent basis in eight trains from the second week of this month.

In keeping with the rush of passengers and high demand for air-conditioned coaches, the East Central Railway (ECR) has decided to add additional coaches of different classes on a permanent basis in eight trains from the second week of this month.

One air-conditioned coach each of 1AC-cum-2 AC will be added to the 13246 Danapur-New Jalpaiguri and the 13248 Kamakhya Express from Danapur on September 11. This will take the number of bogies in the train up to 20, said an ECR communique issued by chief public relations officer Amitabh Prabhakar here on Wednesday.

One 1AC-cum-2AC coach will be added to the 13288 Danapur-Durg South Bihar Express from Danapur on September 11. This will take the number of bogies in the train up to 22.

The number of bogies in the 15279 Saharsa-Adarshnagar Delhi Purbia Express will go up to 19 with the addition of one second AC and two sleeper class coaches from Saharsa on September 12. An additional sleeper class coach will also be added to the 15273 Raxaul-Delhi Satyagrah Express from Raxaul on September 11.

Similarly, a second AC and two sleeper class coaches will also be added to the 12389 Gaya-Chennai Egmore Express from its origin station Gaya on September 16, taking its number of bogies up to 24.

Two additional sleeper class coaches will be added to the 13237/13239 Patna-Kota Express will be added from here on September 11. This will take the number of bogies in the train to 18.

One additional sleeper class coach will be added to the 13307 Dhanbad-Firozpur Cantt Ganga Satluj Express from its origin station Dhanbad on September 11.

The number of bogies in the 15203 Barauni-Lucknow Express will also go up to 14 with the addition of two additional sleeper class coaches from its origin station Lucknow on September 12.
