For Shivdeep Waman Lande, former city SP of Patna and now ADC to the governor, his special status of being ‘popular with the masses’ and ‘the most eligible bachelor in town’ have started troubling him, thanks to others, and he is not amused.

During his brief tenure of nine months in Patna, between February and November 2011, Lande became a hit with the masses for his pro-active and energetic policing.

On Saturday, Lande called on senior SP Manu Maharaj and lodged a complaint against 23 fake Facebook accounts/pages in his name, all created by unidentified persons and mostly visited by young girls and boys.

While Lande has not created any of them, the friends’ list on these fake accounts is getting longer at a brisk pace, enough to make even many celebrities jealous.

This is the second time Lande has fallen victim to cyber crime. Unidentified persons made several fake accounts in his name when he was City SP, Patna.

Lande filed the complaint after a directive came in this regard from the Union home ministry and Patna Police headquarters after the fake accounts in his name were detected.

Lande told HT that he himself was surprised at how so many Facebook accounts were being operated in his name when he himself had created not a single one.

“Strangely, some people are also posting comments on these fake accounts,” he said with regret.

One of the messages reads, “Mom, now I am ready for marriage!”

It has received 673 responses on a single day, specially marriage proposals from girls!
