FIR against Lalu's brother-in-law

patna Updated: May 18, 2010 20:56 IST

An FIR was lodged on Tuesday against RJD supremo Lalu Prasad's brother-in-law and Rajya Sabha member Subhash Prasad Yadav, his wife, and three others for allegedly abducting a liquor shop employee in Patna.

A Bihar court had on May 10 ordered registration of FIR against Subhash Prasad Yadav and others. The FIR has been registered with the Shastrinagar police station.

Chief Judicial Magistrate SP Singh had taken cognizance of the complaint filed by Umesh Singh, the employee of the liquor Shop who had alleged that the five, including Yadav, had abducted him when he had gone to "demand payment of dues for bottles of liquor" bought by them.

After keeping him hostage for more than four hours, they let him off, Singh had claimed.

Singh had on April 28, 2010 moved the court seeking a probe into the charges against the five.
