BJP President Nitin Gadkari, on Wednesday, said the RJD and Congress did nothing for the development of Bihar and claimed people tasted the fruits of development for the first time during the NDA rule.

"Lalu Prasad's RJD brought destruction during the 15-year rule....and the Congress has done 'only vakas (tall claim)' in the name of vikas (development)," Gadkari told reporters at the Jaya Prakash Narayan International Airport in Patna on his arrival from New Delhi.

"Bihar has attained a growth rate of 11 per cent which was earlier in negative", Gadkari said showering praise on the BJP-JD(U) for ensuring development during the past five years. Good roads were seen in the state and there was marked improvement in the state in electricity, he said.

"The major thing, also seen here, is the marked improvement in law and order situation because of since efforts made by the Nitish Kumar government," he said expressing confidence the BJP-JD(U) combine would be further increasing its tally in the assembly this time.
