JD(U) leaders join RJD

patna Updated: Jul 15, 2010 14:13 IST

RJD on Thursday received a shot in the arm with arch-rival JD(U)'s General Secretary Reyazul Haque Raju, Kisan cell chief Amresh Rai and several other leaders joining the party.

Raju, an influential minority face in Gopalganj, Rai and others switched over to the RJD in presence of its supremo Lalu Prasad.

Welcoming them into the party fold, Prasad said an exodus of leaders from ruling JD(U) and its ally BJP had begun after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar surrendered to the RSS after raising objections to his photograph with Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

"We suitably reward those who join the RJD from the two ruling parties," he said.
