Criticising Lalu Prasad’s recent salvo against Congress that it had failed to prevent the demolition of Babri mosque, the JD(U) today dared the RJD chief to come up with the facts about the incident.
Reacting to Lalu’s comments, party spokesman, Shivanand Tiwari told reporters here that Lalu Prasad was inconsistent in his statements for a long period of time and had the habit of implicating his opponents in many cases.
“Lalu should bare all the facts about the demolition before the nation and should not only threaten that he would spill the beans,” he said.
Describing the demolition of the Babri Masjid as the most unfortunate incident, Tiwari said Lalu became the chief minister of Bihar in 1990 with the support of the BJP and later severed ties with the saffron party for his own convenience.
At an election rally in Bihar, Lalu Yadav yesterday said Congress too was responsible for the demolition of the Babri Masjid as it did not save it, prompting quick rebuttal by Congress which said the comments were unfortunate.
