A week after getting the latest version of laptops, the Members of Legislative Council (MLC) are wondering when will they be able to operate them.
MLAs and MLCs are being provided with laptops to keep them updated of all information like government schemes and their status in various Assembly constituencies.
While a majority of them are waiting for a trainer, a large number of them have handed it over to their children and grandchildren.
"My grandson is using it," said a BJP MLC while another was candid enough to say that his son, an engineer by profession, was using his laptop as it had the latest vista operating system. "Till the time I get a trainer, my daughter is using it," said a ruling coalition MLC. "The kids are having a real fun," remarked another MLC.
Quite a few of the MLCs, took the laptops without getting necessary softwares installed. But now they have got the softwares loaded. However, MLAs are yet to get their laptops.
"We need trainers. Without them, it will be difficult for us to even open our laptops," said leader of ruling coalition in Legislative Council, Ganga Prasad.
But all MLCs are not waiting for the trainer. "My daughter is giving me some lessons on how to operate it," said RJD MLC, Bhim Singh.
The Legislative Assembly Speaker, Uday Narayan Choudhary, however, is hopeful that the MLAs would soon become computer-savvy.
