A Bihar women’s commission member has blown the lid off a 17-year-old Patna girl’s alleged gangrape, which was videographed and posted on the internet by the five suspected rapists — her ‘friends’ and two former classmates.
The suspects also circulated the video of the minor via MMS and CDs.
Patna chief judicial magistrate RK Yadav issued arrest warrants against the suspects on Wednesday, a day after women’s commission member Chandramukhi Devi spoke to the girl, a Class 11 student, and took her statement.
Based on Devi’s subsequent complaint to the state police chief, a case was registered at Patna’s sole women’s police station at Sultanganj around 11pm on Tuesday. According to the complaint, one of the suspects — who pretended to be in love with the girl —called her to a house in upscale Rajvanshi Nagar on June 14, where the others joined him in raping her and filming the act.
