Chief minister Nitish Kumar launched the ultra luxury van of Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) in Patna on Sunday. Later, the chief minister along with tourism minister Sunil Kumar Pintu, water resources minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary and JD (U) state president Bashishth Narayan Singh set off for Rajgir in this 'wonder on wheels'.
From May 1 onwards, two vans equipped with sofa-cumreclining bed, satellite television, pantry with microwave, fridge, coffee maker, inverter and cordless communication facilities will be on offer to tourists for customised package trips.
Booking for the luxury trip has already been started. A variety of facilities are on offer at an affordable price of R30 per kilometre with minimum 250 km chargeable a day, Awadhesh Kumar, managing director of the BSTDC, said.
It can be engaged for a family or to experience the adventure trips with friends. The facility is already a huge hit in Madhya Pradesh. Customised on the chassis of tempo traveller (smooth 4020 wb) by Babbar Raju of Gurgaon, the vehicle can be engaged for a majestic ride and to enjoy different tourist spots in the state. On his Rajgir trip, the chief minister was also accompanied by Anjani Kumar Singh, Mihir Kumar Singh, Atish Chandra and Dr B Rajendra.
