RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Sunday accused the Nitish Kumar government of putting the Forbesganj firing incident in the cold storage, saying no action has been taken against officials responsible for the incident in which four members of the minority community were killed.
"No action has been taken yet against officials responsible for the firing," he told reporters before leaving for Forbesganj along with party leaders and activists.
Kumar has also ignored the opposition demand for a CBI probe into circumstances leading to the firing at Bhajanpura village which claimed the lives of four Muslims on June 3, Prasad said.
The state government did not provide compensation to the families of the victims on the ground that it would be paid once the judicial commission probing the firing comes out with its report, he said, dubbing it as "height of insensitivity" on the part of the government.
Though AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi, LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan and an RJD delegation headed by leader of the Opposition Abdul Bari Siddiqui visited the village and met the bereaved family members, the chief minister did not care to go to the village or depute any of his ministers, he added.
