All schools in the state capital have decided to suspend their classes on Thursday in view of the opposition-sponsored Bharat bandh call on September 20.
Talking to HT, the administration of some prominent schools said that they had taken such a decision because most of the private vehicles would not ply on roads due to the bandh.
Some private-run schools, which are conducting examinations, however, decided to keep their schools open but they have given study leave to other students on Thursday. So, no classes will be held in these schools on Thursday.
Chairman of Bihar public school and children welfare association Dk Singh told HT that the association also favoured the closure of schools in view of the Bharat bandh.
Meanwhile, Patna district magistrate Sanjay Kumar Singh said that the district administration had not issued any specific order regarding the closure of schools due to Bharat bandh. He, however, said that the district administration would make adequate security arrangements during the bandh on Thursday.
