The BJP today slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his attack on the Nitish Kumar Government on migration of people from Bihar and asked him to do proper "home work" before making allegations.
"We disapprove of Gandhi's diatribe against Nitish Kumar Government on migration of workforce from Bihar to states like Maharashtra, Haryana, Punjab and Delhi. In fact, the migration has minimised during the past five years," BJP General Secretary Ravishankar Prasad told reporters here.
Claiming that large-scale exodus of labourers and youths had begun during the 15 year rule of Lalu-Rabri, Prasad said Congress was a partner in their government.
He said Congress had shared power with the RJD in Bihar for five years since 2000 and the Rabri Devi government would not not have survived without the crucial support of Rahul Gandhi's party.
"In the given circumstances, Congress is equally responsible for exodus," he said and advised Gandhi to do "proper home work" before making such false and baseless allegations. On former Chief Minister Rabri Devi's personal remarks calling Nitish Kumar "dishonest and a thief," Prasad said Election Commission should take cognisance of such matters.
"Moreover, we also expect decency from Rabri Devi as she had been chief minister for seven years and leader of the opposition in the outgoing assembly," he said.
