Exactly a year after anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare’s first fast at Jantar Mantar, yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Thursday invited him and army chief General VK Singh for the June 3 dharna at the same venue.

“Spearhead my forces in the war on corruption, once you retire from service (in May),” Ramdev said in his invite to the general at Patna.

“I am familiar with the general and his family... I am keen to take his help, once he superannuates from the army. I certainly look forward to this valuable association”, the yoga guru said. “Anna Hazare will also be with us,” Ramdev said.

He said the fight against corruption had reached the “final stage” and that his proposed march to New Delhi on June 3, would be historic. Without naming the Congress, Ramdev said only one party was opposed to his campaign.

In a separate development, Hazare spoke at his native village in Maharashtra on the first anniversary of his Lokpal movement. “We will wait for the passing of the bill till the end of the current session of Parliament. If it does not happen we will have another one and half year before the general elections are held,” he said.

“I will sit at Ramlila maidan once the 2014 elections are declared with a slogan 'Lokpal lao nahi to jao'. As I start my agitation, people will pour in holding the tricolour,” Hazare said at his Ralegan-Siddhi village.
