Rain brings winter chill to Delhi
The huge bounty on the heads of the Indian Mujahideen (IM) operatives Yasin Bhatkal and Asadullah Akhtar --“almost Rs. 1 crore” -- played a critical role in obtaining intelligence inputs leading to their arrest on Thursday, said a top official.
“The monetary incentives offered in exchange for information proved to be a game-changer,” said the official who was an integral part of the operation.
Another officer said that apart from the information provided by intelligence agencies, the inputs from the public in response to the cash awards had played a vital role in “pinning down the two".
