Television star Shekhar Suman Saturday resigned from the Congress and hinted that he may join another political party in a few days.
He said he had informed Congress president Sonia Gandhi as well as the state Congress party president about his decision to resign from the party.
"I have resigned from the primary membership of the Congress in view of my busy schedule as I was unable to devote time to work for the party," Shekhar Suman told media persons here.
Asked whether he will join any other party, Suman said he has not made up his mind at present. "But who knows the future," he said.
Shekhar Suman formally joined the Congress in 2009. In the general elections that year, the party fielded him from Patna Sahib parliamentary constituency against Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
In the political circles in Patna, there is speculation that Suman is likely to join Bihar's ruling Janata Dal-United soon.
