Sonia’s election rallies in Bihar cancelled

Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s rallies in Bihar on Tuesday were cancelled at the last minute. No reason has been assigned. Gandhi was scheduled to address election campaign rallies at Supaul and Samastipur.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s rallies in Bihar on Tuesday were cancelled at the last minute.

“The information we have received from the AICC headquarters is that Soniaji’s rallies stand cancelled. No reason has been assigned,” Bihar Congress Working President Samir Kumar Singh said.

Gandhi was scheduled to address rallies at Supaul and Samastipur to canvass support for party candidates Ranjeet Ranjan, wife of controversial MP Pappu Yadav, and state Congress Legislature Party leader Ashok Kumar respectively.

Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit addressed an election meeting at Supaul while she was accompanied by External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee at a rally in Samastipur.
