Vietnam deputy PM praises Bihar

Vietnam deputy prime minister Vu Van Ninh offered prayers at the world heritage Mahabodhi temple and had a glimpse of the 80-feet tall statue of lord Budha at Bodh Gaya on Tuesday.

Earlier, he was accorded a warm welcome at the airport by the district administration when he arrived on Monday.

Ninh was all praise for Bihar. Talking to mediapersons, he said Bihar was progressing by leaps and bounds and there was tremendous possibility of tourism at Bodh Gaya. Ninh, along with a 25-member delegation, offered prayers at the Vietnamese Bodh Monastery. He also distributed robes among the Buddhist monks.

Later in the day, Ninh left for New Delhi, where he would call on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The two leaders are expected to hold dialogues to further strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries, sources said.
