A woman constable of the BMP, Gaya, who sent vulgar SMSes and made phone calls to an IAS probationer posted in Kishanganj on his official cell number, was taken into custody by the police on Tuesday and later released on bond after counselling. Kishanganj SP Manoj Kumar said the woman, who was married and had a child, had been handed over to her mother.

"I have written to the police department for suitable action. No FIR has, however, been lodged in this case," he added. According to reports, Jyoti Kumari, 24, posted as constable in Gaya, was taken into custody on Sunday evening when she along with three boys went to meet Kanwal Tanuj, IAS probationer, at his official residence. Tanuj is presently posted as SDO Kishanganj.

The SDO had lodged a complaint with the local police on Saturday evening, saying that Jyoti had been sending vulgar SMSs and calling him for the last two days on his official mobile phone. "I immediately lodged a complaint with the police," the SDO said.

A police officer said the woman might have some 'mental problem'. "She had contacted some top officers in the district and had expressed her desire to meet the young SDO on Sunday evening," he added.

Another officer said the woman apparently had a habit of maintaining contacts with top administrative and police officers. "The cellphone numbers of several IAS and IPS officers have been detected in her mobile phone which is a bit unusual," he added.
