London Olympic 2012 squad
Abhinav Bindra (10m Air Rifle): The 29-year-old shooter from Punjab is the country's sole individual Olympic gold medallist. He won the quota place by finishing eighth in the world cup held in Munich, Germany, in 2011. He has been honoured with the country highest sporting awards, Arjuna award as well as Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratan Award.
Annu Raj Singh (10m Air Pistol): The 28-year-old shooter hails from Uttar Pradesh, but has kept Faridabad (Haryana) as her shooting base. She won the quota place by winning silver medal in the world cup held in Fort Benning, USA, in 2011. She became the first-ever Indian women pistol shooter to earn Olympic berth.
Ronjan Sodhi (Double Trap): The 33-year-old shooter from Punjab won the Olympic berth by winning silver medal in the world cup held in Beijing, China, in 2011. He is DSP in the Punjab Police Force and is an Arjuna awardee.
Sanjeev Rajput (50m Rifle 3 Position): The 31-year-old shooter hails from Haryana. He is employed with Indian Navy. He won the Olympic quota by winning the gold medal in the world cup held in Changwon, South Korea, in 2011. He is an Arjuna awardee.
Joydeep Karmakar (50m Rifle Prone): The 33-year-old shooter hails form West Bengal. He got the quota place against the berth won by Hariom Singh, who won it by finishing sixth in the world championship held in Munich, Germany, in 2010.
Gagan Narang won India a bronze medal in the Men's 10m Air Rifle event.
Chekrovolu Swuro (30). From Nagaland, she secured the Olympic quota berths by clinching team silver in the World Championships in Turin last year.
Deepika Kumari (18): She hails from Jharkhand and secured the Olympic quota berths by clinching team silver in the World Championships in Turin last year. She is currently world ranked number 1.
Rahul Banerjee (25): From West Bengal, Banerjee earned the qualification mark for the Olympics by finishing second in the 3rd stage of the World Cup Archery Championship held last month in Ogden, Utah.
Tarundeep Rai (28): He hails from Sikkim and earned the qualification mark for the Olympics by finishing second in the 3rd stage of the World Cup Archery Championship held last month in Ogden, Utah.
Jayanta Talukdar (26): He hails from Assam and earned the qualification mark for the London Olympics in the world championship held in Turin, Italy last year.
