ER
Perhaps the pioneer in medical dramas, ER ran for fifteen seasons, from September 1994 to April 2009. The show followed the inner life of the emergency room (ER) of fictional County General Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, where the doctors handled critical issues faced by the room's physicians and staff. ER became the longest-running primetime medical drama in American television history. It won 23 Emmy Awards, including the 1996 Outstanding Drama Series award, and received 124 Emmy nominations, which makes it the most nominated drama program in history. Hollywood demigod George Clooney was also a part of the doctor ensemble from 1994-1999, as was John 'Uncle Jesse' Stamos.
