Some husbands give their wives flowers and jewelry for their birthday. Others commission local bakers to come up with the most extravagant cupcake possible and are willing to part with $900 for it. That’s what happened in Toronto recently, when Lisa Sanguedolce of Le Dolci bakery was approached by a man to create an over-the-top dessert to celebrate his wife’s 40th birthday.
After a few days of brainstorming, the pastry team came up with a concoction made with some of the most expensive ingredients in the world, including Krug Collection Brut champagne, 24-karat gold leaves, and a limited edition Courvoisier. (AFP)
