Is copy right the new right to copy? From scripts, scenes, characters and songs to, now, posters, Bollywood has often been accused of plagiarism. Is our desi film fraternity running out of ideas? Here are some of the posters of our Bollywood films, in recent times, which have pronounced ­similarites with ­posters of Western films and projects. Ek Villain vs Step Up  The yet-to-be released film’s trailer has crossed a million views online. But the poster, featuring Shraddha Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra, has got many tongues wagging. A closer look at Ek Villain’s ­poster gives one a sense of déjà vu. It reminds one of the American dance film, Step Up (2006), featuring Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-starrer, Step Up.Text: Geetanjali Taragi
