Photos: Northern India freezes with first snow of the season

The season’s first snowfall greeted northern India this week bringing sharp dips to temperatures in the hills, while the plains saw respite with showers and relative temperature drops. Several areas in the Jammu and Kashmir region plunged to sub-zero, experiencing dense fog, roadblocks and landslides.
