A man who worked tirelessly for cantonment residents, Former PCB member Prem Adwani passes away in Pune

Former Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) member Prem Adwani passed away at the age of 87 on October 19. He breathed his last at his residence and was ill for quite some time his family members said. He is survived by his son Jitendra and daughter Manju. Adwani was regarded to be quite vocal in raising people-centric issues at the Pune Cantonment Board and represented ward No 1 from 1974 to 1977. He was also the vice president and treasurer of BJP and President of Shiv Shankar Social Society.
His son Jitendra said “I am very proud to be the son of such an illustrious personality. He was my guide who I used to turn to for each and everything. It is going to be impossible to fill the void in my life,” he said while his daughter Manju said that her father was a man with total passion and dedication towards the cause he believed in and fought for it until his last day. “He dedicated his life to the Jan Sangh (BJP and RSS) and social service. Someone who absolutely loved children as well,” she added.
Adwani was inducted into the RSS by his mentor LK Advani and was also the founder member of Bhartiya Sindhu Sabha. He was into decoration and catering business, a profession continued by his son. Pune cantonment based social activist Manjeet Singh Virdi said that Adwani was a man who worked 24x7 for cantonment residents and did good work for the society and will be remembered for being humble and grassroots social workers in Pune Camp.
PCB member and cantonment strongman Vinod Mathurawala said that Adwani will be remembered for his social contributions to the society.
