Father arrested for sexual assault of teen daughter in Pune

A 45-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for sexually assaulting his teenage daughter on Monday. The 13-year-old girl sustained injuries on her face and arms, and is undergoing treatment at Sassoon General Hospital, according to police.
The mother was not at home when the incident occurred. The girl who completed Class 9 this year narrated the incident after her mother returned from work on Monday.
“Her mother goes to work at 9 am every morning and returns at around 11am. On Monday, when she returned home, her daughter told her what her father had done to her. The mother then approached the police," said Kalyani Shinde, police sub-inspector (PSI) of Phursungi police outpost, under Hadapsar police station jurisdiction, who is investigating the case.
Due to summer vacation, the girl had stayed home. While her mother was away on work, the father allegedly assaulted her and left for work. He works as a helper at a private company.
The man was arrested from his house on Tuesday and will be produced in the local court on Wednesday. A case under Section 376(2)(f)(i) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 of the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act was registered against him at Hadapsar police station.
Meanwhile, a 17-year-old girl was sexually harassed by two men in Pashan who also physically assaulted the girl’s cousin. The incident took place in Pashan on May 9. Accused Amol Jagdale (26) and Siddhesh Satav (28), both residents of Pashan, first molested the girl and then followed her to her home, where they assaulted her cousin.
Dayanand Dhome, police inspector, Chatuhshrungi police station, said, “The girl was molested by Satav while she was out to buy groceries in Pashan gaon. The girl protested and started running home. The accused followed her and assaulted her cousin when he tried to stop them. They fled from the spot as people had started gathering.”
A case under relevant Sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children Against Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act was registered at Chatuhshrungi police station. The police are on the lookout for the accused.
24-yr-old salon owner arrested for assaulting minor
A 24-year-old man was arrested by the Wakad police for sexually assaulting a minor girl in a beauty salon. The man was identified as Sarafat Barkatali Khan, who runs the beauty salon in Wakad.
The incident came to light after the girl’s father approached the local police. Khan wanted two female employees at the salon. The girl had approached him for a job when he asked her to give a trail run of a facial, according to her complaint. He took her to room in the salon and tried to force himself on her.
Khan had allegedly made a video clip of the incident and threatened to publish it online if the minor failed to show up at work.
The incident was recorded on a mobile phone which was allegedly hidden in the room where the incident happened. Khan forced the girl to join work and not tell anyone about the incident or he would circulate the video online. When he stared threatening her repeatedly, the girl ran away from home, according to the police.
He was booked under relevant sections of the Protection of Children against Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act at the Wakad police station. He was remanded in police custody.
