Suspecting wife of having an affair, Pune man kills her, son

Accused suspected his wife of being in an illicit relationship.

A man in Vadgaon Maval allegedly killed his wife, son and grievously injured his daughter and the man whom he suspected to be in an illicit relationship with his wife. The incident came to light early Monday morning. The man, identified as Vasant Gopal Satkar walked into the police station of his own accord, the Vadgaon Maval police said.

Shravani and Ambekar were rushed to Pawana Hospital on Somatne Phata where the doctors have declared them to be in a stable medical condition, according to the police.

Satkar suspected his wife to be having an illicit relationship with a man named Ganesh Ambekar. In a fit of rage, Satkar allegedly killed his  wife Rajni Satkar (38), son Anush Satkar (13) and injured his daughter Shranvani Satkar (9) and Ambekar.

The incident took place in Kanhe Phata village under the jurisdiction of Vadgaon Maval rural police. A complaint was filed by the dead woman's 40-year-old brother who is a farmer in Tungarli region of Lonavala.   

A case under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 302 and 307 - for murder and attempted murder, respectively - was registered against Satkar who walked into the police station of his own accord.
