Pune autorickshaw driver arrested for allegedly raping his minor daughter

Police have arrested an autorickshaw driver for allegedly raping his minor daughter. The driver was arrested after his wife approached police and child helpline after one year of the occurrence of the incident.
An offence under the Protection of Children From Sexual Offences (POSCO) was registered against the rickshaw driver in the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station at Katraj. According to the complaint lodged by girl's mother, her 40-year-old husband raped his daughter on March 2, 2016. The woman works with a company while her husband is an autorickshaw driver. On the day of crime, the complaintant noticed her daughter crying when she returned home in the evening.
The scared girl, initially, refused to share the incident with her. The girl, however, narrated the incident when her mother took her into confidence. The woman did not approach the police that day. The woman sought clarification when her husband returned home. He refused to say anything and even denied to take the daughter to hospital for medical treatment.
The mother and daughter left home following this and were living separately since the incident. The accused went to his wife's company two months back and insisted on taking their daughter with him.
The mother strictly opposed him. When she told about the incident to her employer, he advised her to approach the police and child helpline. a complaint was lodged by the woman after she and the girl were counselled by police and volunteers of child help line.
