In a drive conducted against school vehicles, the Regional Transport Office (RTO) has seized 52 school vehicles for flouting various norms.

RTO officials said that the drive was conducted on November 2 and November 3, during which 350 vehicles were checked.

Deputy regional transport officer, Sanjay Raut, said, "Out of 350 vehicles 75 were found flouting norms. School vehicles are supposed to have a contract with the concerned schools which many did not. Some vehicles did not have fitness certificates and valid school bus vehicle permits."

He added that during the drive 52 school vehicles were seized and a fine of Rs 1,23,300 was collected from them.
