Pune’s St Vincent’s and Loyola enter quarterfinals of inter-school football meet

The Bishop’s School, Camp also moved ahead with a 3-2 tie-breaker win over Gurukul Range Hills School

St Vincent’s School thrashed Angel Mickey and Minnie School 7-0 to enter the quarterfinals of the boys’ under-14 inter-school football tournament organised by the District Sports Council and Education Board at SSMPS ground on Saturday. 

Fazal Shaikh (5’, 8’), Franklin Nazareth (16’, 20’), and Viya Murgod (18’, 21’) scored two goals each while Bhargav Savant added one in the 11th minute.

In the second match, Loyola School, Pashan scripted a 3-0 win over Anantrao Pratap English Medium School. Ranapratap Deshmukh scored in the 8th minute and was supported by Mark Milton and Arya Murkute who chipped in with goals in the 11th and 21st minute. 

The Bishop’s School, Camp also moved ahead with a 3-2 tie-breaker win over Gurukul Range Hills School. 

Krida Niketan script easy win in kabaddi 

Khashaba Jadhav Krida Niketan School scripted an easy 25-6 win in the inter-school under-17 girl’s kabaddi tournament held at Swargate. Krida Niketan was leading 17-0 and continued the onslaught in the second half. Pradnya Thopate and Sheetal Kolekar were impressive from the winning team.

In another match, Raosaheb Patwardhan High School defeated Anglo Urdu School 29-24. Shivanjali Bolade and Sanjiwani Rathod played a key role in this win.
