As the city will be drenched in party mood to welcome the New Year, the UT police will be on their toes to maintain law and order.
For this, special nakas have been planned on the city roads at midnight. The UT police have decided to provide the facility of dropping women, who would require the facility, throughout the night.
As many as 1, 300 policemen, including eight DSPs and 32 inspectors, will be on the duty on the New Year Eve. Special women force will be deployed in different areas, especially in front of hotels and discos.
According to the plan, a total of 107 nakas, assisted by PCR gypsies and motorcycles, will be set up in the city.
