1 killed, 6 injured in road accident

A person was killed while six others were injured in a road accident involving two fourwheelrs, a motorcycle and a cycle near Giddherwali village in Abohar sub-division of Fazilka district on Friday.

As per information, Amrit Pal of Kotkapura town of Faridkot district was driving his car to Sriganganagar in Rajasthan and as he reached near Giddherwali village, suddenly a cyclist came in the way. In an effort to save the cyclist, Pal turned the case to his right, hitting a Bolero and a motorbike coming from the opposite direction.

Krishan Lal, a resident of Khippiyawali village, who was riding the motorcycle, died on the spot, while pillion rider Daljit Singh suffered serious injuries. Bolero occupant Deepak Upveja and the cyclist were injured, besides two others who were travelling with Pal. The injured were rushed to the local civil hospital.

Body of the deceased was handed over to his family after the post-mortem.
