A 10-month-old boy has been kidnapped in Nabha on Wednesday night. The incident happened around 12.30am when victim Gagandeep was sleeping with his parents in a shanty in Gobind colony here.

The police have started investigation and detained more than 40 persons in this regard. SHO Nabha police station Dharam Dev said the complaint had been registered on the statement of child's father Pawan Kumar, who informed the police that two identified persons barged into his room and kidnapped his son.
"The mother of the child started screaming after unidentified persons entered the room, but the accused managed to flee with the boy," said the investigating officer.
The victim's father also informed the police that they even tried to chase the accused, but they fled on their motorcycle.
"Purpose of the kidnapping is yet to be ascertained. We have detained some of the people from victim's surroundings to for investigation purpose," said the SHO.
