SAD secretary general and Rajya Sabha MP Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa on Friday said the Punjab government has handed over the 12-year-old boy's murder case to the CBI.
Taking to reporters here today, Dhindsa said that he had personally requested deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal to hand over the Vidhu Jain murder case to the CBI.
Dhindsa also said the principal secretary (Home) has written to the CBI in this regard.
He said the family of the child had been demanding that the case be handed over to CBI.
Vidhu Jain was burnt alive after he was kidnapped by unidentified miscreants on September 30 last year. The Malerkotla police had registered a case of murder against unidentified persons. Punjab Police had formed a special investigation team (SIT), but had failed to trace killers.
