The Nakodar city police are yet to arrest the two people absconding after killing local jeweller Minik Jain 12 years ago. Jan was killed at his shop in the busy Sharafan Bazar in January 2002.

Accused Janak Raj alias Ajay Kumar and Rajesh Kumar have since been declared proclaimed offenders (PO's). Their two accomplices were, however, arrested.

The accused and their accomplices had assaulted the jeweller who, later, died of his injuries. DSP HPS Parmar regretted the failure of the police to arrest the accused.
